The members present were called to order by Mr. Knowlton of Waldo, on motion of whom Mr. Emmons of Kennebec took the chair.

Whereupon, the Governor, attended by the Council, Secretary and Treasurer of State, Adjutant General and a Deputy Sheriff of Kennebec County, came in, and in their presence took & subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to discharge their respective duties of office.
