253 Remonstrance against the removal of the April Term of the Court of Common Pleas in Lincoln County from Warren to Thomaston, came from the Senate referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, for concurrence and the House concurred.
Report on an order of the 3rd of February last relating to the public building was read and accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Report on the petition of Nathaniel Hoyt and others granting an order of notice was read and accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Report on the petition of the owners of pews in the first Baptist Society in the town of China granting leave to withdraw was read and accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Resolve providing for the division of the Indian Land was read and referred to the next Legislature - sent up for concurrence.
Resolve providing for the choice of Electors of President and Vice President was read once, On motion of Mr. O'Brien to recommit the same with instructions to provide for the choice by districts, the question was taken by yeas and nays and decided in the negative as follows, yeas 60, Nays 92. Tomorrow at twelve o'clock was then assigned for the second reading of the Resolve.
The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill in addition to an act entitled an Act to establish the Kennebec Boom Corporation - and the same was passed to be enacted. Sent up.
