Bill to legalize the study of Anatomy in certain cases and to protect the Sepulchres of the dead, (reported by Mr. Prescott from the Joint Select Committee to which was referred the Bill, proposed by a Committee of the last Legislature, "to legalize the the study of Anatomy in certain cases, & to protect the Sepulchres of the dead",) was read once, and on motion of Mr. Groton was laid upon the table, and ordered that four hundred copies of said report and Bill be printed for the use of the Legislature.

Resolve to amend the Constitution relative to the time of the annual session of the Legislature, and the time of holding the annual State elections, was taken up and read a second time, and the question of passing the same to be engrossed, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows, to wit. Yeas. Messrs. Allen, Bradbury, Bridgham, Brown, Cobb Cogswell, Emmons, Farnham, Farnsworth, Frye, Groton, Howard, Kelsey, Knowlton, Labaree, Manning, Pease, Pierce, Porter, Prescott, Rogers, Smith, Tobin & Williamson - 24. and none in the negative. Sent down for concurrence.

The communication from the Governor informing both branches of the Legislature of the resignation of Major General Samuel Moore, and that a vacancy exists in the office of Major General of the Seventh Division of the Militia of this State; read and sent down.

Mr. Cogswell has leave of absence, fourteen days, from and after tomorrow.

The Senate reconsider the vote passing to be enacted, and also the vote passing to be engrossed "An Act to repeal an respecting the packing and inspecting pickled and smoked fish", and propose to amend the same and pass said Bill to be reengrossed as amended.
