Bill in addition to an Act to incorporate the City of Portland, came from the House, passed to be engrossed, for concurrence. Read once and committed to the joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary. Sent down for concurrence.
The petition of Samuel Leach, praying for a remittance of a part of the sum due from him, to the State for land. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on State Lands. Sent down for concurrence.
The petition of Alpheus Lyon and others that all trainings of the Militia may be abolished, except one. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on the Militia. Sent down for concurrence.
The petition of Samuel Hudson and others for leave to build a Bridge over the Kenduskeag River in the town of Bangor; " of John T. Smith and others for relief on account of damages sustained by flowing land by the waters of the Cumberland and Oxford Canal; were severally read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on Turnpikes Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.
The petition of the Selectmen, and other inhabitants of Sullivan, that a law may be enacted, compelling the mill owners, to make good and sufficient Fish ways on Flanders Stream. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on Interior Fisheries in concurrence.
