Gerrish [name handwritten] of Dixmont,[handwritten] Maine, a Private [handwritten] of Captain [blank] Company of [blank] [both "of Captain" and "Company of" crossed out] in the Detachment commanded by Lieut. Dunning [handwritten] of the drafted Militia of Maine, was born in Durham[handwritten] in the State of Maine [handwritten] is aged 19 [poss. 14?] [handwritten] years 5 [handwritten] feet and 11 [handwritten] inches high, light, [handwritten] complexion, blue [handwritten] eyes, light, [handwritten] hair, and by profession, when called into actual service by the State of Maine for the protection of its Northeastern Frontier, a Farmer.
