Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the committee on Literary Institutions to enquire into the expediency of authorizing the trustees of the Ministerial fund in the north parish in the town of Berwick to appropriate the interest of said fund annually for the benefit of primary schools, read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives, requesting the Senate to take from their files a Bill reported by a committee of the last Legislature respecting retailers &c and send the same down to the House, read and request granted.

Bill to incorporate the Portland Theatre was read a second time and amended. Mr Scammon moved that the same be indefinitely postponed, which question being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the negative as follows, to wit.

On motion of Mr Groton, Ordered, that the committee on agriculture be required to take into consideration the propriety of repealing an act entitled "ant act to encouraged the destruction of crows, passed March , 1830. Sent down for concurrence.
