School Districts to choose Collectors of Taxes & Treasurers reported that Legislation on that subject is inexpedient Read and accepted in concurrence.

The Committee on the Judiciary reported leave to withdraw on the petition of Alexander Reed, read and accepted in concurrence.

Bill altering the time of holding the Court of Common Pleas in Penobscot, came up from the House committed to a Joint Select Committee consisting, on the part of the House, of the Delegation from Penobscot, with such as the Senate may join. The Senate reconsider their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed & commit the same in concurrence, and Messrs. Rogers and Kelsey are joined.

Bill to annex part of the town of Hallowell to Gardiner was taken up. Mr. Rogers moved that said Bill be indefinitely postponed; and the question of indefinite postponement, being ordered to be taken by Yeas and Nays, was decided in the negative as follows, to wit; Yeas. Messrs. Chandler, Emmons, Farnham, Porter and Rogers 5 Nays. Messrs Allen, Bradbury, Bridgham, Brown, Cobb, Farnsworth, Frye, Groton, Howard, Knowlton Kelsey, Labaree, Pease, Pierce, Prescott, Smith and Williamson 17 and said Bill passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.
