The members present were called to order by Mr McIntire on motion of whom Mr Robinson took the Chair.
On motion of Mr Clark, Ordered, that Messrs Clark, Frye and Fish be a committee to wait on the Governor and Council and inform them that a quorum of the Senators elect are assembled in the Senate Chamber and are now ready to take and subscribe the oaths of office required by the Constitution: who, having attended to the duties assigned them, reported that the Governor was pleased to say that he would forthwith attend in the Senate Chamber for the purpose of administering the oaths required by the Constitution Whereupon the Governor and Council, attended by the Sheriff of Kennebec County, the Secretary and Treasurer of State, came in, and in their presence the Senators elect took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to discharge their respective duties of office; after which the Governor and Council withdrew.
