It stormed today.  we was in Camp till 4 oclock in the afternoon when the Regt received Orders to report to our Brigade. we soon saddled up and marched till 1 oclock. we marched to Bealton Station and then stoped till daylight. I guess that the army is going to move within day or two.

We started again this morning at sun rise and marched to Kelleys Ford. got there abought 10 oclock, crossed the river on the Pontoon Bridge. part of the Army is crossing here. 3 Corps has crossed today. we stayed at the ford till dark and then marched on till midnight. halted till daylight.

Started this morning at daylight. marched till 10 oclock, the Brigade then halted and 5 companies of the 1st Maine was sent out on a reconnaissance to a ford on the Rapidan river. was gone 1 hour found no enemy. came back to the Regt and then moved on again. came to Raccoon Ford, crossed the river, and halted or the night.

Last night at 12 oclock we fed our horses and prepared to start on the march again but did not start till sunrise. marched till abought 9 oclock and then halted for a little while and then marched again. we marched the rest of the day and all night. came to Louisa Court House abought 12 miles below Gordonsville.

Saturday, 2. The Brigade halted this morning abought daylight and our Regt was sent in the advance to distroy the rail road at the town of Louise Court House. we are pretty well tired out, having been most four nights with out sleep and not much to eat. We stayed at the C.H. until dark and then commenced our march again.

Sunday, 3. We marched last night till 1 oclock, halted for abought one hour. we started again marched all the rest of the night and until 11 oclock before we halted again then, then, we stoped a few moments to get us a little something to eat. we are now 17 miles from Richmond. I went out 3 miles beyond where we halted and stood Picket till dark and then came in.
