I take this opportunity to write you a few lines in regard to my son you being the only one that can do me any good at this time for I am in a great strate and I rely uppon you as an old friend to assist me now for my case is urgent it is this my son is a soildier in the 2d Regiment of Maine Volunteers and has Been sick since last Sept Last May he was sent home and the other Day Received an order from the department at Augusta to appear there he went and he writes me that they are going to send him to the Hospital you may think this is all right But to me it does not ap
