My Dear Sir
I enclose a letter which I received from one Kennedy Steward formerly of this town and who was a member of the 2d Me. Vol you will see by the enclosed what he desires to do this man was severely wounded but I am happy to learn that he has recovered for he is one of the very best of soldiers if you can aid him in his request you will be doing a great favor to him and his family who reside here I think Col Varney will well recollect this man please inquire if the Col if you are not fully satisfied
