By Mr. Hall: Q. Were you at one time a member of the Governors Council? A. I was. Q. Where do you live? A. Augusta Q. At what time were you a member of the Governors Council? a. 1872 + 1873. Q. At that time were you in any official way connected with the hospital? A. I was on the Committee on the Insane Hospital in the Council; but the most of my connection was in investigating the affairs of the Treasurer. Q. Was there a committee appointed specially> A. Yes, a committee of three. Q. While you were acting in this official capacity did you learn any thing from it in connection with the hospital? A. I did some things. Q. What did you learn? A. We learned that the treasurer who was discharged a short time afterwards was not making- well
