The appointment of Mr. Seth W. Smith to the Indian Agency of the Passamaquoddy tribe would give very general satisfaction to the Republican Party of this city. He made a very acceptable officer when he acted in that capacity under Governor Morrill & is in that a very active & efficient Republican & at this office with others has, by general consent, become a partizan one, that is a consideration not to be overlooked.
