The men will be detached & enrolled in companies by the 15. day of October next __ and the detached companies will be organized by the Commandants of the permanent regiments; who are required to be very attentive to see that the men are well armed & accoutred, & that every detached captain has a muster-roll of his men with the places of their abode noted thereon. They will also make a return of the several com- panies formed of the men detached from their respective regi ments, to the Brigade-majors, by the 30. day of October.
Entire battalions of foot will be formed of the men detached from each Brigade respectively; without having any regard to the number of companies of which they may be composed --consequently, the infantry detached from each Brigade, according to the aforesaid apportionment, will generally form either one or two battalions, of from 250 to 350 men each, or thereabouts.
