I have been informed by Miss Ethel Calvert Phillips that your library has a collection of books about Maine, including her "A Name for Obed."  I happen to be distributing the original drawings for this book, which I illustrated.  Miss Phillips suggested that I might find a home for some of them in your library.

It is my wish that the drawings be covered with glass and inexpensively framed — they are, except for the endpaper, small in size; and that they may be hung where they may be enjoyed.  I do not care to contribute them to any filing cabinet or picture collection where
