Mr Speaker,

The Senate propose that the convention to be formed at nine o clock this day for the choice of Counsellors, continue in Session for the purpose of choosing a Secretary and Treasurer of State - and then he withdrew.

The House concurred with the Senate in their proposition so far as it relates to the choice of Secretary of State and noncurd. so far as regards the election of Treasurer of State - and the Clerk was ordered to acquaint the Senate therewith.

[Committee to make arrangements for public prayer - report &c]

The report of the joint committee to make arrangements for the Executive and Legislative authorities of the State to attend public prayer, accepted in the Senate, came for concurrence - and was in the House read and concurred.

[Report of Committee to wait on Gov. & inform him of organization &c]

Mr Moody reported from the joint committee that they had waited on the Governor, agreeably to order and that the Governor informed the committee, that he would make a communication in writing to the two branches at 11 o clock this day.

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses met in convention at 1/2 past 9 o clock and proceeded by ballot to the choice of seven Counsellors to advise the Governor in the executive department of the Government; and
