That they have had under consideration a bill[underlined] for taxing sales at Auction and Lottery Tickets and an order[underlined] directing them to consider the proprie-ty and expediency of levying a tax upon domes-tic distilled spirits consumed within this state and report a reference of the subject to the next Legislature & On the order[underlined] instructing them to take into consideration the expediency of levying a State tax, and what sum it will be necessary to raise for the support of Government, the ensuring year report that it is expedient to levy a tax on the polls and estates of forty nine thous-and and ninety four dollars and ninety cents to be apportioned on said polls and estates as in the last tax act — which report was read and '9 o clock tomorrow assigned for its consid-eration.
