Ordered, that Messrs [crossed out]M cCobb of Durham; Bailey of Whitefield; Allen of Norridgwock, Hall of Camden, & Morrill of Wells be a committee to wait upon the several ordained ministers of the Gospel in the town of Portland & request them to attend upon the House as Chaplains in regular rotation according to seniority during the present session - read & passed.

The Secretary of State came in and informed the House that he had laid upon the table of the President of the Senate, the returns of votes given in for Governor in the several towns & plantations in this State for the examination of the two branches of the Legislature.

Ordered that the Clerk of this House forthwith appoint some suitable person two assist him in the duties of his office - read & passed.

The Clerk appointed according Herbert J Moore of Clinton.

Ordered that Messrs Allen of Norridgewock, Dunn of Poland, Wingate of Bath, Dane of Kennebunk & Cummings of Paris, be a committee to receive & examine the returns of the members of the House and report a list of the names of such persons as appear to be duly returned with the number of the seats they respectively - read & passed.

Ordered that Messrs Shaw of Northport, Abbot of Vassalboro' White of Monmouth, Hatch of Bowdoinham & Ford of Alna be a committee with such as the Senate may join to consider the subject of the State printing for the ensuing political year - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
