68 The Speaker then read from the chair a letter from William W Fuller Esquire in the following words - "To the Hon. Speaker, "It is with regret that I have to confess to your honorable body that in an unguarded moment and on the excitement of the occasion I have this day been guilty of disrespectful & disorderly behavior by being engaged in a personal rerencontre with Wm Charles Warren in presence of this House and respectfully hope, that this acknowledgement will be accepted as satisfactory for the contempt offer this Honorable House - January 19 1825" (signed) "William W Fuller." The Speaker also read from the chair a letter from Charles Warren in the following words - "To the House of Representatives "It is with regret I have to confess to your Honorable body that in an unguarded moment and on the excitement of the occasion I was guilty of disrespectful & disorderly behavior by being engaged in a personal rencontre with William W Fuller in the presence of the House & humbly hope that this acknowledgement may be accepted as satisfactory for the contempt to this Honorable body. JanY 19th 1825 Charles Warren" whereupon, On motion of Mr Adams of Portland Ordered that the letters of William W Fuller & Charles Warren, expressing their regret for disrespectful & disorderly behaviour in presence of this House today, being considered satisfactory, be entered upon the Journal and that said Fuller & Warren be discharged from Custody - read & passed.

The Clerk then announced to said Fuller r& Warren that they were discharged from arrest.
