I learn that the office of Agent for the Penobscot Indians is now vacant and that the appointment of some suitable person to the station now devolves upon you; it is therefore with pleasure I communicate to your favorable consideration F. H. Dillingham Esq a citizen of this city with whom I have been personally acquainted for many years and who is a gentleman of probity  and integrity and will if appointed perform the duties, I have no doubt, faithfully and acceptably to yourself the public and all concerned
