To his Excellency Hon. Lot M Morrill Gov. of the State of Maine.
Having given a letter recommending F. H. Dillingham Esq. for the office of Indian Agent for the Penobscot Tribe. I would say that in case he is not appointed I would recommend Albert Richardson Esq. of Oldtown [Old Town] as my second choice.
