Be it known, That on the sixth day of November, now current, Joseph Dane, Esquire, of Kennebunk, in the first Congressional District of said State, was duly elected by the qualified electors of said District, in conformity with the existing laws of the State, a Representative to represent the people of said State, in the sixteenth Congress of the United States, in the place of the Honorable John Holmes resigned:
In testimony whereof, I have caused these Letters to be made Patent, and the Seal of the State to be hereunto affixed, this twenty first day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty; and of the forty fifth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
