Exercise of strong penitential feeling; confess the innumerable sins which render us most unworthy the favors we enjoy; deprecate the effects of His just displeasure; humbly implore forgiveness, through the mediation of His Son, and fervently beseech Him to grant, that the enjoyment of our perfected blessings may still be continued to us, and that we may be disposed to make suitable returns;
