Having been called upon to make out my bill for medical services rendered to the 2 companies of troops who have been discharged today - I am at a loss to know how or what to demand. If I charge what I usually receive from the U.S. Custom House for attendance on Sailors, $10 each case or according to the rules of my private practice, it will, I fear, amount to more than will be satisfactory to you, there having been 17 protracted cases - Therefore, I propose that as I am now in attendance on 4 or 5 cases of sickness at the Barracks, thus I shall continue to perform the duties of Surgeon as long
