To all persons to whom these Presents shall come,

Greeting:

Whereas before our Supreme Judicial Court, begun and holden at Norridgewock, within and for our County of Somerset, on the first Tuesday of June, being the seventh day of said month, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty six, Benjamin Drew, late resident of Harmony, in our said County of Somerset, Laborer, was convicted of the Crime of Forgery; and thereupon by our said Court was sentenced to be punished by solitary imprisonment for the term of two months, and afterwards by confinement to hard labor for the term of four years, within the precincts of the State Prison, in Thomaston, in the County of Lincoln, a part of which sentence yet remains to be executed, and he the said Benjamin Drew, has humbly supplicated Us for mercy:

Now, Know Ye, That, upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said Benjamin Drew, that part of the punishment aforesaid which yet remains to be executed; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates, and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.

Witness Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed, at Portland, the twenty third day of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven; and in the fifty first year of the Independence of the United States of America.
