Memo concerning lists of men, residents of Maine, belonging to the Mass. Line regiments encamped at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777-1778, compiled from the Revolutionary Rolls collection in the office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. There were 11 regiments of the Mass. Line at Valley Forge in December, 1777, according to a return transmitted by Gen. Washington to the General Court of Masschusetts. These regiments were as follows:

In order to make the lists as complete and authentic as possible, a thorough examination was made of the Revolutionary Rolls collection, and every muster roll and company return of the companies in the 11 regiments that bore dates between Oct. 1, 1777, and April 1, 1777. and April 1, 1778, was located and carefully examinded, and every
