Dear Sir
We leave this afternoon for Fairfax – we are attached to the Division under Gen.Tyler of Conn. The boys feel well and are anxious to be on the move, & I hope & trust they will give a good account of themselves.
The last knapsacks sent were very satisfactory to the men. The last men sent were not properly examined - a great many of them are entirely unfit for duty, & will have to be sent back immediately.
Everything else satisfactory.
