ON this sixteenth day of October, 1820, personally appeared before Martin Kemly [?] a Justice of the Circuit Court of Common Pleas, for the Counties of Hancock, Washington and Penobscot being a Court of Record for said Counties, proceeding according to the course of the common law, having original jurisdiction, unlimited in amount, keeping a record of their proceedings, and having the power of fine and imprisonment, Solomon Collins aged fifty eight years, resident in Bucksport in the Country of Hancock within said Circuit, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth, on his oath, declare that he served in the Revolutionary war as follows, viz. in the Company commanded by Captain [previous four words are crossed out] Maine's company - and Regiment commanded by Colonel Sheppard then Smith [?] of the line of the Sate of Massachusetts upon the Continental Establishment, for the period of ten months, having ... that his original declaration was made before Judge Kely [?] ______ on the thirtyfirst day of March 1818; that he is now on the Maine Roll and that his [the previous seven words are crossed out] an applicant for a pension.  And I, the said Solomon Collins do further solemnly swear, that I was a resident citizen of the United States on the eighteenth day of March, one thousdand eight hundred and eighteen; and that I have not, since that time, by gift, sale, or in any manner whatever, disposed of my property, or any part thereof, with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an act of Congress, entitled, "An Act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States, in the Revolutionary War," passed on the eighteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighteen; and that I have not, nor has any person in trust for me, any property or securities, contracts or debts, due to me; nor have I any income, other than what is contained in the schedule hereto annexed, and by me subscribed.  Solomon Collins

I have no debts due me that can be collected, and I owe upwards [?] of one hundred dollars which is now in Execution against me and the other debt which I am wholly unable to pay - my occupation has been for many years that of a sailor, but by means [?] of old age + the wound in my arm, I am unable to do but little labor; not half the work of a common laborer. My family is at home, consisting of myself, my wife Ieverhe [?] aged fifty seven, always lame, and much of the time sick and under the Doctors hand [?] and my sons work age seventeen years as healthy as common __ except the above and my necessary bedding and clothes I have no Estate or income whatever.
