Bill – to incorporate the Saco Manufacturers Canal Company, was read 1st & 2d time and tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned for a 3d reading.

The Senate have so far reconsidered their vote passing to be engrossed “Bill to incorporate the Quamphegan manufacturing Company” as to adopt sundry amendments thereto as contained on sheet accompanying the same marked A. – and also have so far reconsidered their vote passing to be engrossed “Bill – to incorporate the Kennebec Manufacturing Company” as to adopt sundry amendments thereto as contained on Sheet accompanying the same marked P[?] – and the Senate have taken a 3d ballot for a Major General for the 4th Division and made choice on their part of Col. Samuel Veazie, and they request the concurrence of the House in said proposed amendments and said election of Major General.
