Bill – to change the names of certain Banks, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as amended on sheet annexed marked P.[?] Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve – respecting a bridge between Kittery and the Navy Yard Island in Piscataqua river, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill for the preservation of Highways, taken from the last years files, was called up & referred indefinitely.

The committee on engrossed bills, reported as duly engrossed,

Bill – relating to Fish in East Machias Waters

which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed

Resolve – for reimbursing Albion K. Parris, certain expenses by him incurred

which was finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

The House resumed the order of the day on the Resolve “designating the place where the next Legislature shall meet” – Mr Adams of Portland moved an amendment to the Resolve, by striking out the words “Augusta in the County of Kennebec” and inserting instead thereof the words, “Portland in the County of Cumberland” Mr Boutelle called for a division of the question – and the first member thereof to wit shall the words “Augusta in the County of Kennebec” be stricken out was first taken, and decided in the affirmative by yeas & nays as follows, years 68 0 nays 54. The House then voted to fill the blank with the words “Portland in the County of Cumberland.” & passed the Resolve to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
