On motion of Mr. Kelsey,

Ordered that the committee on State Lands be directed to inquire into the expediency of authorizing the Land Agent to carry into effect contracts made by the Commissioners of the Land of Massachusetts, with settlers on Township number four, first range, North of the Bingham Kennebec Purchase; and all others, who have settled on lands now belonging to this State, under contracts with said Commissioners; with leave to report by Resolve or otherwise: sent down for concurrence: concurred.

Bill to prevent the destruction of shoals or beds of Lobsters about the Bay at the mouth of Saco River,” was read a 2d time and committed for amendment to Messrs. Scammon, Green and Shepard.

A message was received from the House informing, that they had amended the engrossed Resolve in favor of Heman Nye,” and passed the same to be reengrossed, and requesting the concurrence of the Senate: and

The Senate so far reconsider their former votes as to concur the House therein.

Resolve accepted a Deed of Joshua Gage & als. to the State,” was then taken up and referred to the next Legislature.
