[Convention for senators] At ten O'clock the two Houses met in Convention for the purpose of filling the vacancies in the Senate. The whole number of votes to fill the vacancy in Cumberland was one hundred and fifty three, necessary to a choice seventy seven, Robert L. Dunlap had one hundred and eight and was elected.

The whole number of Ballots to fill the vacancies in Lincoln was one hundred and fifty five, necessary to a choice seven eight, Jonas Wheeler Esq. had one hundred and fifty five, Joel Miller Esq. had one hundred & seventeen, and Parker McCobb had ninety one, and they were severally elected.

The whole number of votes to fill the vacancy in Somerset, was one hundred and fifty four, necessary to a choice seven eight, John Read Esq. had one hundred and fifty two, and was elected.

The two Houses then separated.

[Secretary order'd to notify Senators] On motion of Mr. McDonald ordered that the Secretary of State be directed to notify Robert P. Dunlap, Jonas Wheeler, Joel Miller, Parker McCobb and John Read, Esquires that they have been severally elected Senators by both Houses of the Legislature, to supply the vacancies in their several Senatorial Districts, agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution; and to request their immediate attendance to aid the Senate in the discharge of their public duties.
