Ordered that Messrs Leonard of Brewer, Vance of No 6, & Blake of Phillips be a committee to ascertain & report to this House what towns in this State have received grants of land from Government together with the quantity and amount of yearly income & also what towns have had no such grants. - read & passed.

The Committee appointed to engage a person to draft & copy Bills & Resolves &c during the present session, reported that they had employed Mr Daniel Clark of Portland to perform those services - The report accepted in Senate came down for concurrence - and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence referring so much of the Governors Message as relates to the testifying to Gen Lafayette the high estimation in which he is held by the people of this State, be referred to the committee who have under consideration the subject of extending to him a request to visit this State - and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence referring so much of the Governors Message as relates to the support & education of the Deaf & Dumb in this State be referred to the committee who have under consideration the message of the 8th inst. on the same subject - and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence referring so much of the Governors Message of the 7th inst. as relates to the States prison, the communication from the Governor General of Canada & the escape of offenders from Justice, be referred to Messrs Stebbins & Prime of York with such as the House may join, & the House concurred & Messrs Williams of Augusta, McKown of Boothbay & Sweat of Parsonsfield.
