Rev Doct Nichols was then declared elected and on mo tion by Mr Cushman the President was requested to no tify the Revd Gentleman of his election.

[right margin] Com to inform the Governor of his election [main body] On motion by Mr Cushman Ordered that Messrs Cush man, Sweat and Hathaway with such as the House may join be a committee to wait on Enoch Lincoln, Esq and inform him that he has been elected by the People Governor of the State of Maine for the current politc al year and that the two Houses of the Legislature are ready to convene in the Representatives chamber that in their presence he may take and subscribe the oaths of office re quired by the Constitution and to receive any communi cation he may be pleased to make to them. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred and Messrs Wellington Spring, Swan, Johnson and Robinson were joined.
