Resolve respecting settlers on St Johns & Madawaska rivers - was read a 2nd time & passed to be engrossed with an amendment at A. Sent up for concurrence.

Bills to incorporate the town of Kirkland - - to incorporate the Proprietors of the Brunswick Force Pump Water Works - - granting certain privileges to the town of Islesboro' - - additional to an act to regulate the Manufacture of and inspection of Stone lime and lime casks - - additional to an act for the limitation of actions, read & personal and of Writs of Error - - to set of certain lands from Mount Vernon to Readfield - were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve authorizing the Treasurer to purchase fuel for the use of State - - laying a tax on the several Counties - were finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill providing for the distribution of Copies of the Constitution of this State and of the United States, to be used in Schools, was read a 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill imposing fines on towns neglecting to choose Representatives, came from the Senate with a certificate of the appointment of Messrs Stebbins, Parsons of Lincoln & Holland as Conferees - The House appointed Messrs McCobb of Phipsburg, Goodenow of Alfred & Hammond of Elliot conferees on their part.

Bill to prevent frauds in the business of Banks and of public officers and Trusts, was taken up - The House reconsidered their vote refusing a 2d reading to the Bill - read the same a 2nd & 3d time & passed the same to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
