Feb 20 1828 also any accounts which said Land Agents may have settled with the Governor & Council may be communicated to the House; I have the honor to transmit herewith, copies of the doings of the council of the third day of July, and twenty second day of December 1828, & first day of January 1829, in relation to the settlement of the accounts of the late Lands Agents, with copies of the documents recorded therewith; also a copy of the Report of the present Land Agents of this doings up to the first day of January last and copies of his accounts as settled yesterday with the Governor & Council.  Enoch Lincoln

Bill to incorporate the Alfred Academy, was called amended, & then on motion of Mr Nance of Baring indefinitely postponed. Sent up for concurrence.

On Motion of Mr Boutelle of Waterville,

  Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of providing by law that Justices of the Peace whose Commissions have expired, may renew Executions on Judgement & Recognizance by them rendered *& taken while in office - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

The House look up the consideration of the Order moved by Mr Shaw of Wiscasset on the twenty ninth of January last on the subject of appointing a committee to proceed to the State Prison, examine into its affairs & report to this Legislature ect and after a protracted discussion, but before the question of passing the order was put, a motion was made to lie the subject on the table which prevailed.
