[Message to House proposing a convention to qualify the Governor] On motion by Mr. Phelps, Ordered that a Message be sent to the House of Representatives proposing a Convention of both Houses of the Legislature in the Hall of the House of Representatives this day at twelve o'clock /Noon/, for the purpose of administering the oaths, required by the Constitution, to Jonathan G. Hunton Esq. Governor elect, and of receiving any communication he may be pleased to make, and to request the concurrence of the House therein. And the Message was delivered by the Secretary.
