Order of the House that the Senate be requested to take from their files and send down the Resolve accepted a Deed to the State from a Committee of Augusta: Read and the papers sent down.

Petition of A.H. Cross and others for a tax on Dogs in Portland, was read and referred to the Committee on Applications from sick and wounded Soldiers: Sent down for concurrence, and came up concurred.

Mr. Ripley from the Committee on petition of the Court of Sessions of Lincoln County, reported

Bill additional to an Act directing the time and manner of appointing County Treasurers and for other purposes; which was read twice and passed to be engrossed: Sent down for concurrence.

Mr. Campbell from the Committee on an order upon that subject, reported a

Bill establishing the salary of the Governor which was read once and committed and monday next at 10 O’clock assigned for a 2d. Reading.
