On motion of Mr Vance of Baring, Ordered, that Messrs Shaw of Wiscasset, Kilby of Eastport & Sumner of Lubec be a committee to consider the expediency of extending to the town of Eastport in the County of Washington, the provisions of an act, entitled "An act authorizing the town of Portland to assess a tax on the owners of dogs - read & passed.

Resolve for the benefit of Waterville College, was called up & the House reconsidered their vote of yesterday adopting the amendment moved by Mr Smith of Newfield - and Monday next at ten oclock was assigned for the further consideration of the subject.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Resolve for providing Public Buildings for the use of the State which was finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed, Bill - authorizing the Medical Society of Maine to establish subordinate Societies - - authorizing Judges of Probate, in certain cases, to appoint guardians to Married Woman - additional act to provide for the packing & inspection of Pickled & Smoked Fish - - additional to an act to incorporate the Proprietors of Merrymeeting Bridge - - additional to an act extending the jurisdiction of the Municipal Court - - to incorporate the Maine Mutual Fire Insurance Company - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to establish the Old town Canal, was read 1st & 2nd time, amended, and tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a third reading.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as fully engrossed Bill - to annex a part of the town of Norridgewock to the town of Milburn, which was passed to be enacted, Sent up for concurrence

Report on the petition of Samuel Veazey & als, granting leave to withdraw, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence
