140 propriety of authorizing the Land Agent to purchase all such land as has been granted to Bowdoin College and other Literary Institutions in this State which has not already been sold or conveyed by said Institution and report by bill or otherwise was read and passed in concurrence.
[Bill recommitted] The Engrossed Bill to prevent depredations on the public Lands came up recommitted for concurrence and the Senate concurred.
[Bill postponed] Bill in addition to an Act to incorporate the Schoodic Log Company was read a second time and on motion indefinitely postponed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
[Bill passed to be engrossed] On motion by Mr. Dane the Senate reconsidered their vote refusing a passage to the Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of Anson Bridge and concurred with the House in passing the same to be engrossed.
[Bill concerning Alms Houses] Bill to authorize towns on the County of Kennebec to associate together to build an Alms house for the support of their poor was read a second time and passed to be engrossed. s.d.f.c.
[Bill & Resolves enacted] Mr. French from the Committee on Engrossed Bills reported the following to be truly copied viz Bill to incorporate the Springvale Printworks Company and the same was passed to be enacted. and also Resolve providing for the purchase and distribution of Greenleaf's Reports and Resolve in favor of John K. Smith and the same were finally passed.
