204 [Resolve providing compensation to certain officers] Resolve providing compensation for certain officers was read a second time and passed to be engrossed as amended.
On motion by Mr. Cushman, Ordered that when the Senate adjourn they adjourn to meet again at 1/2 past 8 o'clock tomorrow morning.
[Bills & Resolves enacted] The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported the following to be truly copied viz - Bill to apportion and assess upon the Inhabitants of this State a tax of Fifty thousand Dollars " in further addition to an act to organize, govern and discipline the Militia of this State, " making further provision concerning records of Justices of the Peace, " to prevent the destruction of Pickerel in Modomoc Long Pond " providing for the survey and admeasurement of Logs " additional to the several acts now in force, securing to owners their property in Logs, masts, spars and other timber, " additional respecting the appointment of Clerks of the Judicial Courts &c Bill repealing part of an additional act respecting highways & the same were passed to be enacted and also Resolve additional to encourage and aid in the publication of a Statistical view and map of Maine, " in favor of Erastus Foote " requiring Returns from Clerks of the Judicial Courts, " for the payment of contingent expenses and Resolves requiring Returns from Registers of Deeds and the same were finally passed And these Bills and Resolves were presented to the Governor for his approbation and signature, Adjourned Attest, Eben Hutchinson Secy.
