Petition of James Hawes and others, that the town of Corinna may be annexed to Penobscot County was was referred in concurrence to the Committee on Incorporation of towns.
[pet. of N. Peas &als] Petition of Nathaniel Pease and others of Denmark for a grant of Land to form a Ministerial fund was referred in concurrence to the Committee of Parishes +c.
[" of Ira Wadleigh] Petition of Ira Wadleigh for assistance in relating to the cutting of certain timber were referred in concurrence to the Committee on State Lands
[" of Thos A. Hill & Directors of Old town Bridge] Petition of Thomas A. Hill and Directors of Old town bridge for aid in constructing their bridge was referred in concurrence to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals.
[Resolve - Public Buildings] Resolve for providing public buildings for the use of the State was taken up.- Mr. Megquier proposed the following amendment be substituted for a part of the original Resolve viz "Resolve that there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of erecting and completing public buildings for the use of the State, the sum of sixty thousand Dollars, And the Treasurer of this State is hereby authorized to borrow, on the faith of the State, from time to time for the purpose aforesaid, a sum of money not exceeding Sixty thousand Dollars at a rate of interest not exceeding five per centum per annum." and the question on adopting this amendment was decided in the negative by yeas and nays as follows [Yeas + Nays] Yeas Messrs Dunlap, Megquier, Mace and Grover 4 Nays Mesrrs Dennet, Sweat, Emery, Kavanagh, Miller, Richardson, Herrick, Hathaway, Shaw, Balkam, Williams, Cutler, Cushman, Weston and Parsons. 15
