Ordered that the Committee on Literary Institutions be instructed to inquire into the expedience of requiring of the Superintending School Committee in the several Towns and Plantations in this State to take the Oaths required of other Town Officers before entering upon the discharge of their respective duties - to receive compensation for their services and be liable to a forfeiture for nonperformance of their respective trusts -

Ordered, that the governor be requested to communicate to this House all the information in his possession in relation to all the acts and doings of the Managers or others acting by virtue of an Act passed February 11.th. 1823. entitled "An Act authorizing a Lottery for the benefit of the Cumberland and Oxford and Canal Corporation" And also of all those acting by virtue of an act authorizing a Lottery for the benefit of a Bridge at Sullivan's Ferry passed March 7. 1826 - And also of those acting by virtue of An Act granting a Lottery to encourage Steam Navigation in this State passed March 7. 1826 - the amount of monies raised by each of the aforesaid Lottery - the amount received by the managers of each for their services - and the amount received by the venders of Tickets in each of said Lottery.

Ordered, that the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals be instructed to inquire into the expedience of making provision by law for the more effectual preservation of our Public Roads and Highways, within this State by prohibiting after ___ years the use of narrow rimmed wheels thereon drawn by oxen - And also to enquire into the expediency of making provision by law for some suitable compensation to be made to present owners of Narrow rimmed wheels, provided they alter them to wide ones within ___ months either by giving them a bounty, or abating part of their taxes - or in any other way which the Committee in their wisdom
