Petition of Herman Nye, for increase of Pension was read and referred to the Committee on Military Pensions - sent up for concurrence.
Message from the Governor I herewith transmit for the information of the Legislature, Resolutions of the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina relative to the Constitution and Union of the United States in opposition to the doctrine of Nullification as avowed by the state of South Carolina and in favor of a repeal of the existing Tariff. I also transmit Resolutions of the General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in favor of the protection of Domestic Manufactures and deprecating the passage of the Tariff Bill now pending before congress as impolitic and inexpedient and ruinous in its tendency. Council chamber Augusta Jany 28. 1833 Saml. E.
