[Pet. refered] The petition of the Directors of the Vassalborough Bank for a renewal of the charter of said Bank, an alteration of the name, and for increase of the capital stock of said Bank, was read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on Banks and Banking in concurrence.

The petition of John Brewer and others, in aid of the petition of E. Richardson and others, was read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on Turnpikes, bridges and canals in concurrence.

The petition of the Assessors of the Town of Cumberland, praying for a deduction from the State valuation, was read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on the State valuation in concurrence.

[Order concerning Adjournment.] Ordered, that the sessions of the Senate hereafter commence at half past ten o'clock in the morning, until otherwise ordered.

[Message to the House.] A message was sent to the House of Representatives informing them them of the passage of the above order.

[Pet. pf Nathl. Tilton refered.] The petition of Nathaniel Tilton praying for aid on account of wounds received in execution of his duty as a Deputy Sheriff, read and referred to the Joint standing Committee on Military pensions. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
