Augusta Nov 21st 1861
Sir Mr. Nickerson the bearer of this letter wishes to present to you the case of his brother who is now in the 2d Maine Reg. who wishes to be transferred to one of the Batteries of Artillery whatever he may say to you in regard to it you can rely upon - If you can consistantly grant his request you will oblige his many friends - it was my intention to see you but could not.
