Messrs Greene, Furnham and Allen were ap- pointed a Committee to receive, sort and count the votes for Secretary; who, having attended the duty assigned them, reported that the whole number of votes was 19. Necessary to a choice 10. William Trafton [< bold] has 17. Moses E. Woodman 2.
William Trafton [< bold, underlined] was then declared elected, signified his acceptance, and took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution before James L. Child, Esquire, authorized by Dedimus Potestatem, [< bold, underlined] in presence of the Senate.
