Dear Sir

I became much prostrated from a camp malarial fever accompanied by severe cough so that I obtained leave of absence and have been at home some more than two weeks. I am gaining some, but am yet very feeble and fear I may not be able to resume active duty in the field for a number of weeks though [ ] intend to start for the regt some time next week. as I suppose Dr. Main is now sick at his house in Unity and Doct. Bl[ ?] sick in Boston, at least this was latest account from [? ] Dept. [? ]
