Bill to incorporate the Maine Turner Bridge Company, referred from the last to the present Legislature was read and, with accompanying papers referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
A communication was received from Roscoe G. Greene signifying his acceptance of the office of Secretary of State - read and sent down.
On motion of Mr. Smith Ordered that a special message be sent to the Governor & Council, informing that Body that Roscoe G. Greene, having been duly elected Secretary of State, has signified his acceptance of that office and is ready to take and subscribe the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of his official duties; which message was delivered by Mr. Smith.
