�March, Tuesday, 17. 1863.
I was relieved from guard this morning at 8 oclock. came into Camp received some things from home. our man that was absent on furlough has returned. The drill this afternoon on foot. with our carbines.
Wednesday, 18.
In Camp to day. the weather has been pretty warm. wrot a letter home in the fore noon Received my Box from home. nothing new has taken place only there was a false alarn of the Pickets being driven in. the long roll sounded and the Regts was soon under arm.
Thursday, 19.
I am in Camp again to day. the weather is pleasant. received a letter from a friend in San-dwich Mass. Well I do remember one year ago to night. we was getting ready to leave. the next morning for the seat[?] of war.

Saturday, 21.
In Camp all day. wrote a letter to a friend in Skowhegan Me. The weather has been stormy There is some talk of us joining our Regiment to morrow.
Sunday, 22.
In camp again to day and we shall not go to the Regiment till tomorrow and perhaps not then but I guess we shall. The weather has been quite pleasant to day. we had our Inspection of Arms. at 6 oclock
